Packing for a winter trip can get unmanageable. You want to feel warm yet stylish. We get you for sure! Follow these tips from experienced travelers at eye pie and world to pack efficiently for your winter get away-
1. Winter Boots
Wear a pair of nice but comfortable winter boots. One, these protect your feet from the winter chill; two they look absolutely gorgeous and three, they go with every outfit and look great in the pictures. As they are bulky, it is a good idea to put them on rather than packing them in your bags.
I have a pair of Unisa boots and they are super comfortable, I have walked in them for hours without any issues. Pictured below are a pair of Michael Kors boots. Uggs are a great choice as well.
Down jackets are great option. These jackets are super warm. They are also perfect for travel as they can be folded to fit into very small space. In fact, I own two Michael Kors down jackets one in blue and another in black and carry them both on my winter trips. Look for one with a hoodie as covering your ears can help a lot especially when it is windy. You can also carry a long coat if you would like. These look very elegant and keep you warm. You will have to put these on instead of packing them as these are quite bulky.
Mark your days with scarfs. It gets monotonous to wear same jacket every day during a winter trip. It also means that all your photos look the same. So, change the look of your outerwear by keeping a few different scarfs and create a new look every day. They also keep you warm btw. 🙂
You can find countless winter hats that are cozy yet stylish. They can make any simple outfit look sophisticated. Not everyone likes to wear hats but you can always experiment to create new looks and who knows you may start loving them.
5. Dress Up In Layers
It depends on what kind of winter weather you are going to face. If it is really cold, dressing up in layers works wonders and looks great too. Start with a thin t-shirt (preferably a fabric that wicks sweat), top it with a sweater, your down jacket and a scarf. For extreme winters consider adding a parka on top. You will be all set to face any kind of winter.
6. Smart (touch screen) gloves
Wearing gloves is a must for your cold destinations. However, removing them everytime you want to use your phone or click pictures can be excruciating. Using smart gloves is certainly a smart idea 😉
Don’t put that summer dress you love aside, just because it is a winter vacation. A warm pair of stockings can make any outfit winter ready. We mostly recommend keeping neutral colors like nude/black, but you can go bold and try fuschia or orange or patterned ones too.
8. Plain turtleneck/mock neck full sleeve t-shirt
Uni colored mock-neck tee-shirt is a must keep for any winter getaway. Add it under your tunic/dress to create a new winter look; wear it with a pair of high waist jeans or skirt for a smart yet casual look; put it under your overalls for a super stylish look or just use it for layering on a really cold day.
